Chateau Prieure de Blaignan is a vineyard located in the Medoc region of Bordeaux, covering an area of 23 hectares. It has a rich history dating back to the 14th century and was once used as the summer residence by Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon, the son of King Louis XIV.
The vineyard encompasses two hillocks made of limestone and clay, where the vines are planted. These vines have an average age of 30 years.
In order to achieve maximum fruitiness and concentration, modern vinification techniques are employed. The wine is aged for a period of 15 months before being bottled. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
When it comes to the tasting experience, the wine has a deep ruby color. On the nose, it presents an elegant aroma of wild strawberries, followed by flavors of bilberry and black currant on the palate. The wine possesses excellent structure, balance, and supple tannins.
Chateau Prieure de Blaignan pairs well with a variety of dishes. It complements steaks, lamb chops, pork, and pastas.
